'Mom Oprah' as the girls fondly call her, sat on stage(in a green flowy dress) next to Nelson Mandela's wife on saturday and watched the pioneer batch graduate in immaculate white dresses. All 72 graduates will go ahead to attend universities around South Africa and America.

The school which took 6 years to build and cost $40 million, is probably one of Oprah Winfrey's greatest achievements till date and the teary-eyed Ms O couldn't contain her emotions during most parts the ceremony.

I see this as a celebration of life, love, freedom and greater things to come. I am so excited to see what these girls have to offer to their society after all the books are ticked off. I see a bright future, I see leaders of tomorrow.

New Year's Day was supposed to be a great day for Angolan fans of US rapper Nas as they geared up for a big concert featuring their idol but Nas never showed up.

Acording to TMZ.com, Patrick Allocco, CEO of AllGood Entertainment and his son are being held at gunpoint in an Angolan hotel until Nas and another rapper, called Jemiah Jai, return the $315k each were paid to perform at a New Year's concert.

Nas, whose $315K was wired to him in America, never showed up for his performance due to failure to make his flight. And he never bothered to reschedule. So what do you expect the man footing the bill to do?

Smelling some kind of foul play, the angry local impresario sent his 'area guys' to bundle up the concert promoter and his son at gunpoint and bring to him.(Poor guys). They were then handed over to the Angolan police and were interrogated for 7 hours until the US embassy stepped in to secure their release...pheeeww!

Now you're saying ''Thank God" right? Not so fast. According to TMZ.com, the men are still being held probably at gunpoint while the two sides try to resolve the money issue.

This is the message Allocco's people released to Nas and his people;

“The hope is that Nas and Jemiah Jai will return all of the monies that were wired to them immediately so that our ransom may be paid and our safe return to the United States may be facilitated.”

What is wrong with all these US rappers these days, refusing to show up for their performances in Africa after being paid? I don't want to believe Nas of all people did that especially as he claims to have so much 'love' for Africa.
That's how Rick Ross never showed up for his performance at the Calabar festival in Nigeria after collecting his fee.
Let me make this clear rappers! If you've heard 'things' about Africa and you're probably scared for your safety, don't make arrangements to go over there to perform. Most importantly, don't collect money and then do a no-show. That's disrespectful. I guess you don't see that as anything since it's just Africa, the needy continent right? The teenager who was stabbed to death in broad daylight on boxing day, has been officially named.

18-year-old Seydou Diarrasou was out with some friends scouting for boxing day christmas bargains in a Foot Locker store on Oxford Street, London. when he was brutally stabbed. Witnesses say he got stabbed over a box of trainers.

After the stabbing, poor Seydou was still brave enough to stagger outside before he collapsed in the streets.

Scotland Yard has so far arrested 11 people including five 19-year-olds, three 17-year-olds, two 22-year-olds and one 16-year-old in connection with the murder.

Has the human life come to this? For an innocent boy to be brutally killed over a pair of trainers? May Yaweh save us.

Mr Kim, who has led the communist nation since the death of his father in 1994, died on a train while visiting an area outside the capital, the announcement said.
He suffered a stroke in 2008 and was absent from public view for months.
His designated successor is believed to be his third son, Kim Jong-un, who is thought to be in his late 20s.

Kids have been made to believe that a big white-bearded man rolls in from the North pole with reindeers bearing gifts for all the good kids on christmas eve. While parents dig deep fnancially to keep their little ones convinced and satisfied, the kids on the other hand, continue to topup their wish lists with the most expensive gifts from nintendo wii to disneyland trips.

Every year kids write nice letters to santa, try to be on their good behaviour in return for the presents on their wish lists. Litttle Mekeeda Austin from Bedford, England decided to take a "killer" route. The 13-year-old schoolgirl penned an open letter to santa demanding lavish items including a blackberry, a designer Laura Knitted 33 jumper , converse trainers, money, sunglasses and real life Justin Bieber or teenage singer Austin Mahone . Mekeeda warned santa to step up or she'll kill his reindeers and feed the meat to homeless people on christmas day. She then finished off the letter with a chilling 'Remember...two of these, or you die.'

Here comes the real bombshell. Makeeda's stay-at -home mother, Tracey, found the letter in her schoolbag, was dumbstruck but has decided to meet her daughter's demands instead of punishing her. This is one of the comments she made regarding the issue

'I know it sounds like she is spoilt but I like to get my daughter what she wants. Also you don't want to get on the wrong side of her.'

As their dreams of solo careers went down the pit, the voices behind the X Factor machine decided to give the girls second chances by putting them in a group under the mentorship of Tulisa Contoslavlos. Week after week, they sang, struggled with their notes, wore fierce outifts and BOOM! finally crowned the winners of X Factor 2011, making them the first girl group ever to win in the history of the show's 8 years existence.

I can't say they had the best voices in the show because they didn't. They struggled during most of their live performances but always managed to pull things off to get the necessary votes. Lil Rachel was the latest contestant to be voted off this week's X Factor US show, after receiving the least votes from the public...and there was the shock moment...and then came the wailing. I felt sorry for lil Rachel.

Ms Kibonen Nfi oneof the most dynamic and young Cameroonians to look out for in 2012was invited by JCI to host and represent Africa from JCI Cameroon atthe JCI Morning show amongst Ms BonnieThomas from the USA and Ms Aya Inoue from Japan.
The 1^stday of the show focused on “Engaging the Community” in projectsconducted by JCI members worldwide. The passion for creating lastingpositive change motivates the members of JCI, but there are countlessindividuals - friends, neighbors, coworkers - who also want to makean impact, so it is important to get the whole community engaged. Mr.Phillippe Cori from UNICEF joined the Morning Show to share hiswealth of knowledge of community assessment around the world and wasfurther interviewed where he gave advice to members on bestpractices.
Members took part ina game on the UN Millennium DevelopmentGoals called the “MDG Match- up” which served as a reminder onthe JCI global partnership with the UN on the MDGs
Members were quizzedon a rundown of the major events of the day– The Trade show, The JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of theWorld, The JCI Twinning Ceremony, The JCI World DebatingChampionship, The JCI World Public Speaking Championship, and GeneralAssembly on “Today in Brussels”.
Some Outstanding JCIchapters and members were recognized by the JCI World PresidentKentaro Harada.
The 1^stdays show ended with a raffle draw where members won amazing pricesand all dispersed to attend the different conferences, Generalassemblies and rich trainings for the day.
Day 2 hada fresh theme which was directly linked to day one and it focused on“Turning Ideas into Solutions”. Solving a problem requires acomprehensive approach. Ideas from many different parties must beimplemented to fully resolve the issues. Invited to share hisexperience on this theme was a JCI friend Wayne Clarke from the BestCompanies Partnerships. Wayne was also a speaker at the JCI ImpactForum at the congress.
JCI members played“Flip the Goals” game, the object of the game is to flip overeight paper cups along the side of a table using only one hand! Eachcup has one of the eight UN MDGs on it and you must use your takecareful action to turn the problem upside down. Taking action to takeout problems.
“Today inBrussels” quiz followed where they were all excited to reveal themajor events of the day – JCI Expert Day Blue Economy, The JCIImpact Forum, The Creative Young Entrepreneur Final, The 2012 JCICandidates presentation and Caucus and the Global village party whichis the biggest party which reunites almost 3000 people from over 30countries of the world.
President Haradarecognized organizations that demonstrated strong organizational andleadership effectiveness through the JCI 100% Efficiency program.
The raffle draws concludedthe show for the day.
Day 3 was even moreinteresting. The audience having considerably fallen in love with theeclectic show hosts and the themes of the show were in to listen toserious talks on “Sustaining the Change” which means continuingto make an impact even after a project is completed. As you all know,global change doesn't happen overnight and the continued efforts ofall JCI members are needed if JCI is going to achieve their missionof becoming the world's leading organization of young activecitizens.
A vivid story ofimpact was shared - a partnership done between JCI and the UNFoundation in Cameroon in August 2011 to learn how the “Nothing ButNets” project really works. Andrea Gough,the Manger of the “Nothing But Nets” campaign at United NationsFoundation, was invited to talk about how she and her colleagues useevaluation and analysis to keep the Nothing But Nets relevant andeffective throughout many years of action.
Members later tookpart I the last game of the JCI MorningShow - "Pass Your Passion," and the object of the game wasto wrap their partners in one of these spools of material as if theywere sharing with them their passion for creating positive changethrough JCI.
“Today in Brussels”quiz followed. Events of the day “Spotlight JCI”, 2010Candidates’ Elections, JCI Awards Ceremony and PresidentialInauguration were highlighted as main events of the day.

PC is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album titled "No Comment" scheduled to be released sometime in December 2011. His 1st single "C'est Rouler" is the hottest song at the moment and is enjoying rotation on radio and TV stations around Cameroon. The video was shot in Yaounde by N.S Pictures. Emmanuel Eboue became the latest black player to face the disgusting behaviour of some racist twats. While playing for his new team Galatasaray, the Ivorian International player was pelted with water bottles, lighters during a Turkish league match against Besiktas. Some of the Besiktas supporters even went as far as hurling human excrement at him.

What really makes my blood boil about this video is the bare fact that none of his team mates came to his rescue. They just stood there like confused statues while poor Emmanuel ran around for safety looking confused and helpless. Who says racism doesn't exist in football? Only an old fool like Sepp Blatter thinks incidents like this should be resolved with just a handshake after the final whistle.

Racism in football will continue to gain more grounds(unfortunately) because most often it is spearheaded by some team mates like cockhead John Terry(who are considered great assets and so will rarely be punished significantly) and then easily spreads to the 'animals' we often call football fans.

I really feel for this guy.
